Why Humility Matters to God

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV)

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

God brings honor to the humble because humility recognizes that our strength, wisdom, and success ultimately come from Him. The humble person does not need to prove his worth or seek the praise of others; instead, he trusts God’s timing and places his cares in God’s hands. Pride says, “I can handle it myself,” but humility says, “Lord, I need You.” When we humble ourselves before God, He promises to lift us up at the right time and in the right way.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to walk in humility and trust You with every burden and concern. Keep pride from controlling my heart, and teach me to wait patiently for Your timing. May my life honor You rather than seek the praise of others. Thank You for caring for me and for promising to lift up those who humble themselves before You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
