Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
In a recent Town Hall article, it describes a revelation of what is happening to churches in America:
According to a Family Research Council (FRC) report, attacks on churches spiked 800 percent in less than six years, noting that they all had political overtones, with at least 12 including satanic imagery or symbols. The report highlighted 915 instances of violence in churches in the United States, … Between January and November of 2023 alone, 436 acts of violence occurred in churches nationwide.
I have read in the gospels and the epistles regarding the state of churches and how they will be victims of severe persecution. Of course, this is nothing new, it's been going on for eons. Besides, the bible is also very clear that these acts of persecution by means of violence and destruction, only serve proof of what the Lord promised would happen and gives us a certain hope as we are faced with it.
It is Satan's plan to destroy the church - that is the people of God - to make way for his kingdom to rise up and take over the whole earth. For now, he is ramping up to bring his plan to fruition by way of attacks and persecution.
As things escalate and darkness continues to invade this world with heinous and horrific acts of pure evilness, let us not lose heart and fall victim to the underworld demise.
Instead, let us endeavor to do what Paul instructed his protégé, Timothy:
1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
I also think this a good time to remember the following proverb in these days of our troubles:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Your servant in Christ,
Tom
