Fragile Life

Psalm 39:4 (NKJV)
“LORD, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am.”
David’s prayer is a humble reminder that our lives are brief and fragile, and that we are not in control of the number of our days or the events of tomorrow. Because of our frailty, we should never live independently of God or presume that our plans will always succeed. Instead, we must depend upon His wisdom, seek His direction, and submit ourselves to His perfect will. Every day is a gift from God, and recognizing the uncertainty of life should lead us to trust Him more deeply, live faithfully, and say with humble hearts, “If the Lord wills” (James 4:15).
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to remember how frail and dependent I truly am. Forgive me for the times I have made plans without seeking Your will or trusted in my own strength. Teach me to depend upon You each day, trusting Your wisdom and submitting my life to Your perfect plan. Help me to use the days You have given me to honor You and serve others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
