The Infallible Word of God

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Second Timothy 3:16-17 reminds us that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. In a world filled with confusion, moral compromise, and ever-changing opinions about what is right and wrong, the Word of God remains our unchanging and trustworthy authority. Because Scripture is God-breathed, we can trust its truthfulness and depend upon its teachings to guide our faith and conduct. The Bible does more than inform us; it transforms us by exposing our sin, correcting our mistakes, strengthening our convictions, and teaching us how to live in a manner that pleases the Lord. Although we live in an imperfect world surrounded by imperfect people, God's Word equips us to stand firm in truth, demonstrate Christlike character, and faithfully fulfill the purpose He has given us. We must therefore resist the temptation to conform Scripture to the world's standards and instead allow God's Word to shape our thinking, direct our decisions, and govern our lives. When we build our lives upon the truth of Scripture, we have a sure foundation that remains steadfast even when everything around us changes.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your holy and trustworthy Word to guide us through this imperfect world. Help us to recognize Scripture as our final authority in matters of faith and conduct, and give us the wisdom to apply its truth to our daily lives. Correct us when we stray, strengthen us when we are weak, and equip us to stand firm when the world challenges our convictions. May we never compromise Your truth to gain the approval of others, but instead live in a way that honors You and reflects the character of Jesus Christ. Let Your Word continually transform our hearts and direct our steps so that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your servant in Christ,

Tom
