Pure Love of God's Word

Psalm 119:140

Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it.

The Word of God is precious to the believer because it reveals His truth, declares His promises, and guides us in the way of righteousness. Psalm 119:140 reminds us, “Your word is very pure; Therefore Your servant loves it.” Unlike the changing opinions of the world, God’s Word remains trustworthy, pure, and true. It provides wisdom when we are uncertain, comfort when we are discouraged, and correction when we stray from His ways. As believers, we must hold fast to what God has spoken, refusing to compromise His truth to satisfy the desires of the world or the opinions of others. When we treasure Scripture in our hearts and put it into practice in our daily lives, we demonstrate our love for the Lord and our confidence in His promises. May we never take God’s Word for granted, but continually read it, study it, obey it, and stand firmly upon its unchanging truth.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your precious Word to guide, teach, and strengthen us. Help us to treasure Your truth above the wisdom and opinions of this world. Give us discernment to recognize false teaching, courage to stand firm in Your promises, and faithful hearts that desire to obey Your commands. May Your Word shape our thoughts, guide our decisions, and draw us closer to Jesus Christ each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
