Galatians 3:10
For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.”
The movie ‘The Grinch’ starring Jim Carrey, features him as the dreaded Grinch, as a life like character immortalized in film based on the story written by Dr. Seuss. In one of the scenes Augustus Maywho, the mayor of Whoville is challenged by little Cindy Lou Who's nomination to make the Grinch the Holiday Cheermiester. The Mayor rejects the motion and consults to the sacred “Book of Who” which is the standard for ruling all the Who's in Whoville.
As we make our pilgrimage in this world, our journeys will take us to places and seasons, where we find ourselves at some crossroad; to follow the rule of the world or the rule of God?
This can be a particular quandary for some who tend to capitulate and give into the demands of the secular state. Abortion laws that demand unrestricted abortion on demand, government and unconstitutional overreach that effects our lives and lifestyles and our so-called protected freedoms, among other worldly standards are implemented and forces us to bow and worship this works of evil.
If we rely only on a thing like the “Book of Who” we will have no other recourse than to capitulate and conform, or be cast out. The only book we should rely on and be empowered by is the Holy Scriptures – the Word of God – the Holy Bible.
The bible has endured all time and remains a Godly standard of morality and virtue for every human being. Yet, man has taken it upon himself to interpret God’s laws and twist and manipulate and reinterpret the book into man’s own version which distorts, dilutes and pollutes the very word of God.
When will our nation and its people get it through their thick skulls and let the truth of God’s word and the Gospel rest upon our puny minds? How long and how far will these people go before the righteous judgment of God’s wrath comes in all His fury and power? That Day is not too far away!
Sadly, as the bible tells us, people will fall away. People will give themselves over to unsound doctrine, heresies and false teachers. People and their unrepentant sin will be exposed as if they were standing naked before a Holy God one day and be eternally judged. No longer will they have an opportunity wait and get right with God, or plea their case before Jesus on the Day.
If we are to take God seriously, we must take His precious word seriously and live according to His standards. Know this, obedience is important, but knowing Jesus is more important.
Once you have accepted the gift of grace that God gives and grants forgiveness through the blood of His Son Jesus, and repent with a heart of true godly sorrow, then you are sealed with the Holy Spirit who will lead you and guide you in all truth, and you will be saved and spared from the wrath of God.
