Walking in the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 reminds me that when I truly walk in the Spirit, my life should begin to reflect the character of Christ through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Godly fear means that I recognize God’s holiness and authority and desire to honor Him in the way I live, speak, and treat others. I cannot produce this fruit simply through my own strength; it grows as I surrender my heart and daily walk to the Holy Spirit. As C. S. Lewis said, “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in; aim at earth and you get neither.” This challenges me to keep my heart focused on God rather than the things of this world. When I walk in reverence toward Him, the fruit of the Spirit becomes more evident in my life and points others toward Christ.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to walk in Your Spirit each day with a heart that reverences and honors You. Produce Your fruit in my life so that my words, actions, and attitudes reflect Jesus. Give me the wisdom and self-control to turn away from sin and the courage to live according to Your truth. May my life bring glory to You and be a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your servant in Christ,
Tom
